PITV Video Education Series

PIF partnered with SpikeTV to create Positive Impact Television (PITV), a video diary that highlights at-risk youth and the organizations that support them as they make a positive difference in their communities.

Get a glimpse into the worlds of three exceptional and inspiring students from Camden, New Jersey. Despite the difficulties that they face, Alicia, Breanna and Ronnie use determination and the help of their supporters to make positive life decisions and act as role models in their communities.

We hope that illustrating the positive impact of youth through PITV will:

  • encourage others to become contributing members in their communities;
  • help others recognize the valuable impact that family, friends, and community organizations have on youth; and
  • become an important and effective tool for helping at-risk youth build self-esteem and in turn, increase the likelihood of long-term personal success.

As you watch their stories unfold, imagine the value of recognizing the at-risk youth that are overcoming the odds. There are so many stories that need to be heard. Click here to donate!

A 3-minute and 22-minute version of this segment are available. For more information, please contact Kelly Dunphy at kdunphy@positiveimpact.org or 202.719.8092.

See What Our Youth are Accomplishing Today

Breanna Cunningham  continues to attend Creative Arts High School in Camden, New Jersey and is currently in the 12th grade. Still majoring in dance, Breanna is also the drum major for Camden High School’s marching band. Every day after school she attends marching band practice and then heads over to the Halliday Dance School for Praise and African dance classes. When possible she volunteers at the dance school and on January 23, 2008, she will perform at the Black Dance Conference in Texas. Breanna attends Enon Tabernacle in Germantown, Pennsylvania, and has found some inspiring mentors and good friends there.

This summer, Breanna held her first job at the P.A.L. Summer Dance Camp. There, she taught students character development as well as African, praise, ballet, modern and jazz dance. Breanna also directed all fundraisers and lunch management.

Breanna plans to attend Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where she will major in business and minor in dance. After graduation, she plans to open her own dance school in Camden to support her community. PIF is thrilled to see that Breanna continues to make a positive impact in her community - her parents, sisters, brother, and nephew are also incredibly proud of her accomplishments.
